A female United States age 41-50, anonymous writes:

Why is it that some guys are jerks to girls? I'm in a relationship with this guy and sometimes I'm like 'What a jerk' Either that or has no manners. Ok, I hate, hate, hate it when guys walk in front of me and leave me behind. He does this sometimes. Oh, and the waiter comes to our table and he orders appetizers and his drink, then I order. What the heck?!? I've noticed he's the type of guy who takes the initiative for everything..time we're going to meet, where we're going, and things like that. But still.

Should I mention this to him? It really does bother me. Am I exagerating, I don't think so.

Also, we went to the movies and they said....blah, blah 'guys are jerks to girls when they like her.' And he says, "see I like you." I looked at him and asked, "So is that why you're a jerk because you like me?" He answered, "sometimes."

TasteofIndia agony auntIf he knows he's doing it, then you can call him out with little no no guilt about making him feel bad. Say, "if you act like a jerk because you think I'll like you more, I want to let you know that it's not making me like you any more. It's just making me think you're a jerk."

Girlfriend, you don't need to stick around for this creeper. If he doesn't change his act, I say ditch him and find a gentleman who will remember to open the door for you and mind his manners.

Good luck!

Well if he knows he's doing it and then you let him get away with it and stay with him then it's no wonder that he carries on.

As soon as you actually stand up to him and say "I don't like it when you do that." and then stay angry / leave until he apologises then he might actually shape up.

Other than that some guys are just jerks and the only way to not have them jerk you around is to stop being around them.

Why on earth have you stayed with him this long? I usually dump this kind of guy after the first or second date because I just can't be bothered wasting my time to see if they'll change.

Good Luck!! xx
