The thing is as i was with my ex for 5 years i haven't been on the dating scene since and i'm a bit nervous, we've been texting eachother and were going out on the weekend, i'm so excited and haven't felt like this for a long time. One thing though, i'm always the one who text's him first, i know it sounds silly cos i'm sure its not an issue but i'd really like him to text me first sometimes, do you think theres a reason for this?

 Yep can relate to that, I'm always first intiating texts and when I confronted my girl about it she replied "I no its so cute I'll never ever ever text you first" which I found fairly ridiculous, could be along the same lines but also some people just seriously don't like texing. Don't let tex dominate the relationship it should be another #ex that does that

It's as simple as that and I wouldn't worry about this too much. I remember being in exactly the same situation as you once, and I used to take it really personally when I would send text messages and rarely, if ever, get replies!I think the commitment to text messaging has become a big relationship "want" in a person. e.g. I think when I am next getting to know a potential girlfriend I will definately find out if she likes texting and put a big cross by her if I found out she doesn't! lol!Maybe you could gently tell him how much you like getting texts? If he is a considerate guy then there's a high chance he'll think of you and send you one :P
