My genital area has been sore and very ichy recenty and some of the skin is peeling. I had previously assumed that this was just because i keep things shaved down there and it was starting to grow back and irritate me, but now i'm not so sure. My boyfriend's penis looks normal, but i'm still worried as i give him head very frequently, although we've not had proper sex yet (but are planning to in the next few days). Am i right to worry, and if i have to get myself checked out can i do it without letting my mum know, as i'm 16 years old and i know she'll react badly. please help.

Hi there, I kind of know what you're going through. My boyfriend has genital herpes too and it freaks me out sometimes. If you haven't had sex with him, the virus can be passed if it is on his hand and he has touched you down there. Get checked out immediately and, until then, don't let him touch you down there.
Once you know whether you have it, you can make a decision from there. Whether you both do or just him, there's no reason you can't enjoy a healthy sexual relationship, of course, with condoms.
If you want anymore advice, get in contact with me again, I'm an expert on this topic! Get to your doctors and get some answers first and then see how you feel. It is a risky business being with someone with an STD, as there's always going to be a risk for you. Also, speak to your boyfriend. How could he have been so irresponsible to have let this happen?
Good luck

You need to stop any physical contact with him right away and go to a sexual health clinic. If it turns out you do have herpes, I think perhaps you should consider killing your boyfriend for treating you so unbelievably badly.

Get checked out. Go to your GP or the local GUM clinic at your nearest hospital. I am presuming of course you live in the UK. Phone the Brook (number in phone book) they can advise you further.
Good luck.
