Why is he ignoring someone he wanted to date?

A female age 41-50, *44 writes:

My boss told me he was interested in me and i told him i feel the same but didnt want to rush into anything but i do want to get to know him. Well we have been having great conversations, we have fun around eachother but havent had time to go on a date. Im going through a divorce and he has alot of family obligations wich im totally cool with that. Well last monday his boss tried to scam me and another girl out of money but i called his boss out on it, in a calm respectful manner.His boss of course drags him into it and he didnt know what was going on. I apologized to my boss for him being yelled at for his bosses scam but ever since then hes been ignoring me even at work when he has to communicate with me.He told me i should of bit my tongue bc i caused drama with his job. He acts like its my fault when all i wanted to know was where my money was.He hates his boss but why cover for him and then ignore someone he was wanting to date? Im so confused and my feelings are hurt.
