okay so my boyfriend recently broke up with me and so far its all been okay. him and i are still friends and we get along well. lately though he has been getting really flirty and im not sure why. we have only been broken up for about 3 weeks. i dont want to directly ask him if he still likes me or anything because it might push him away. my question is guys how fast do u get over a girl and why do u flirt with her after being broken up?

A female reader, anonymous, writes (5 November 2009):

Break up remorse is actually a common (and mind boggling) scenario. He sees that you're moving on and doing fine without him - and confidence is a very attractive quality. Seeing you like this, he's most likely considering that he made a big mistake. Believe me, if you would have begged him not to break up or had a public meltdown it would have confirmed his decision to end things. Stay strong and confident - spend time with family and friends and stay active - he will continue to find your maturity attractive. When he finally comes crawling back to you (and he will), the ball will be in your court.
