reader, anonymous, writes (18 February 2013): Either he isn't interested, he hasn't looked at the message yet, he hasn't had time to reply, the message went into the 'other messages' folder for people who are not friends (if it was a PM and his settings are set like that) etc etc. I have to say though, I have had a few guys I don't know add me and say 'hey' to me before and it seems a bit weird and slightly creepy to me and I usually ignore it too. Do you know him in real life to speak to?

Wait... He actually remembered but didn't know what to say to "hey".
No, I'm reading his brain wrong. I think he did know what to say and it was amazing but his connection was bad and it never went through.

 The message was a bit short, maybe if you had asked him a question or something he might have felt obliged to reply. I wouldn't message him again though or he might feel like you are stalking him. Give it time maybe he'll message you, if not delete him!

This may not be what you want to hear, but it doesn't seem like the guy feels you are important enough to even acknowledge. He could have at least said hello back, but he didn't. Sounds like a douche to be honest. Good luck!
