Hi there. If he is otherwise healthy, eats a balanced diet, gets regular exercise and sleeps well, there probably is no problem.
Semen can change from very white and thick in consistency, to light creamy and clear, to thin and clear like raw egg white, and anything in between.
It changes with whatever it is he eats and drinks. Also his hormones would play a part in the appearance of his semen.
It's all perfectly normal, no problem at all.
The only time there ever would be a problem, is if he had any rashes on his penis around the head or along the shaft, any soreness, and if there was any other discharge at other times - not related to sexual activity.
And if that discharge was smelly or had blood in it. And if there was any pain at all, or fever.
If anything very unusual happened that isn't normal for him at any time, he should then go straight to his family doctor and have it checked out thoroughly.
From what you have described here though, it doesn't seem there is any kind of immediate problem.

 A million things could be the cause of the change. Diet, stress, level of hydration and lifestyle massively affects the color, flavor, scent and consistency of ejaculate. If he's done -anything- different over the last few weeks in terms of diet, exercise, medications taken, drugs consumed, quitting or starting smoking cigarettes, blah blah blah...that's probably the reason.
If he's showing NO signs of infection or STI symptoms, he's probably fine.
