writes: hi, its a long story but i have been seeing this guy for about 10months and ever since the beginning he has told me that he don’t want a relationship and this has been fine and we have had a lot of fun together. we now live far apart and i thought that things would just fade away but it seems to of brought us closer, we talk everyday and we are very close, but still things remain the same, he doesn’t want a relationship and I’m not sure i do because i am a flight attendant and am away a lot. but i think i have fallen in love with him and its hard to be rejected in this way! he said that he is sorry and that he needs to sort himself out but how do i deal with this? how long do i wait? and should i wait? reader, anonymous, writes (2 July 2008): I don't think he is going to change his mind. I mean he might change his mind but it will be in the future long after you are gone. But as things are right now, nothing has changed, so his consistency about not wanting a relationship is the only thing you can count on. If you want to be happy with someone, its not going to be with him, so you should move on.
