So common right? The thing is that she told me what are the benefits for her getting a "K" type visa and i couldn't explain to her the deal about it. She mentioned that it was stupid because she is engaged to an american citizen born and raised in the states, why would the f. and k she'll need a visa. What can I tell her, I'm so confused???

Then I expect it's a different set of paperwork. Why don't you or she have a look around that website I provided? I don't really have time to do the research for her or you tonight. If she's the one who wants to marry this guy, shouldn't she be doing the research?

One thing to point out, if she gets that visa and enters the US, they need to get married within 90 days. So it's kind of important that they actually intend to marry... if it's just a 'engagement thingie' it probably won't work and she won't get the visa.

The girl is Mexican but her guy is the one raised in the States, right? She still has to enter the country (US) and has to fulfill whatever the current requirements are to cross the border. Just because she's engaged to a guy from the States doesn't give her an automatic visa or automatic entry to the US. She has to get through the red tape. Here's a link that should explain things, though probably not clearly, it's written in governmentese.
