He said,"I don't want any trouble." But still wants to keep talking to me. Why is he sending me mixed signals?

reader, anonymous, writes (1 October 2013): I guess I should explain further... He has been talking to me behind his wife's back for some time now, though she has made very clear to me, via phone calls, and him verbally, that she does not want him talking to me. And so, here we are...so I thought maybe he just wanted to have lunch and have some closure. He keeps saying what I previously said, but wants to continue talking to me... behind his wife's back. That's why I'm confused!!!
