Why does my ex stare at me?

My ex has been staring at me for a while now and looks directly into my eyes when he does but we dont talk anymore, we used to be such good friends then his gf started hating me for no reason and made him block me and not text me anymore, the other night my bf asked if I could talk to him and my Ex said he doesn't want to know me but everytime I see him in person his always around me, walks past closely, tries to be close and stares at me but never gives me a evil stare though like he hates me, why is he doing this?
