Odds are good that you have a small rip in a blood vessel in you rectum and that when you poo it's opening up and letting a bit of blood out. Going to your Doctor will allow him to determine the cause and the cure. Till then, here are some things that will help minimize the situation:
1. Sit on the toilet as little as required to poo. Get on, and get off. Do not read on the toilet, or do anyhting else that make sitting on it take a second longer.
2. Eat a good diet, plenty of fiber, make your stools soft. Cut out the junk food.
3. Warm baths may help.
4. If your forcing a poo out, you need to modify your diet. Ideally, when you poo all you should need to do is relaxm and it should come out. No need to PRESS HARD... if you're doing that you may need a laxitive in the short run, better diet in the long run.
5. drink lots of water... stay hydrated so you poo is not dry. Pee should be LIGHT yellow, and never dark...
Get to a doctor and get this fixed, no need to be embarrassed it happens to people all the time, and there are FAR WORSE things that can happen.

It is likely to just be difficult bowel movements. But, you see a doctor to be sure. No need to be embarrassed, a doctor has probably seen your case (and much worse) many times before.

my friends mum was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer. apparently she had been passing blood for a few months prior. the cancer has now spread to her liver and she has 18 months to live. I hope this isn't the case for you, but please, get it checked out ASAP. x

You might have heamorrhoid's or something, ..but the only way to know for sure is to see a doctor, ...and I suggest you do incase it is something more serious.
