Why does he act so strangely if he doesn't want to be friends?

This is kinda confusing.

I once liked this guy. A lot. I mean I was crushing on him super bad. But he didnt feel back, so he told me to get over him. I did (as much as possible), and I thought we could be friends.

We cant really. He has a few issues, and I think finds it hard to be friends with people. Both he and I knew that we could never be REAL friends. So i decided to just leave it, and keep him as a once-in-a-while-we'll-talk acquaintance.

But now hes got really strange. He assumed I hated him because I look at him and say hello. If I dont sugar coat the truth (which I did do before) i'm being bitchy. He says he doesnt care what I have to say, but he still feels hurt or gets pissy if i'm not constantly sweet. (Just a guess) but he has started to react more to what I say now...which is weird.

Why does he act so strangely, if he doesnt like me, and doesnt want me to be his friend?
