However, the other day her best friend had sex for the first time and told my girlfriend it was the most painful experience of her life. This scared her, even though she says she still wants to do it, but I am scared too because I don't want to put her through that. Is there anyone who can shed some light on why it hurts women so much? and also is there any way of making it less painful for my girlfriend? Thanks

it's because it's her first time..and she's tight down there
and she'll it's common for them to bleed their first time because when you insert them you break their hymen..that's normal

its so nice that you care about her enuff to not want to put her in any pain! kudos for that! there's not too many of yall around anymore:D
hope I helped. xoxo.

Lots of foreplay and taking it slowly is the key to making it less painful. It hurts because you are stretching muscles and tearing skin as well as bruising areas that haven't been bruised before.
