Why do we keep making excuses for making our relationship "official"? It's FWB right now.

Okay so ive been talking to this guy for about 8 months and have become friends with benefits but i know we both have feelings for each other. We both have admited to it but for some reason or another we both have excuses for not making it official i say im not ready for a relationship because i dont want to get hurt again (my last bf cheated on me and got the girl pregnant) and he says that because i live too far away from him it wud b hard for us to be in a relationship ughhhh what do i do i really like him and want us to be together we have the chemistry but am i ready?! HELP!!!
