We have both been married and have children (not with each other) and in between each relationship we have always found our way in to one anothers lives. Is it meant to be or just a security blanket? I know we both still love each other...I just can't figure out why we have not just stayed together.

You guys are meant to be. Pure and simple. So I'm a hopeless romantic, so what? If you two still love each other and keep going back to each other, you're basically meant for each other. What you're going to do about that, I don't know. But it's true.
Good luck
Wishing you the best

Do you live with each other. I think you are really meant for each other, just cant or wont admit it. I bet if you tried living together and you got through the bumpy bits you would end up getting married, but that is my theory and i like happy endings.

If yall have been deliberately searching for one another again, it might be a security blanket. If it is "meant to be" these "finding each other again" events happened by coincidence.
