Lately, when I run and, near the finish line..I tend to think about my ex and say to myself, "I'm doing this for 'Zack'!" (I'm 16 years old)Although I have NO feelings for him whatsoever, for some reason, just thinking about that makes me push myself and finish REALLY STRONG. I broke up with him in April, and we ended it on good terms. He still has feelings for me. And we broke up because he admits that he was being a terrible boyfriend (i.e not calling, rarely hanging out..etc etc.) I have no clue whyy i particularly think about this..but I'm just so confused. I don't know!! gahhhhhelp?-Thanks

Sometimes when we need to be pushed to do something our minds use something important to us to give us that push to go further and complete what we started.
You may have got so use to doing it for your ex that you still use that as your thing to push you further and therefore you need to find another reason why you are doing it and use that to push yourself.
You say you are doing it because you love the feeling of finishing the marathons that you work so hard on so try using that fact as why you are doing it, you don't have to be doing something for someone or something else you can do these things for you.
Good luck :o)
