A reader, anonymous, writes (11 July 2006):

13 and feeling alone is heartbreaking to hear. You have a road so full of promise ahead of you.

I think having friends will do you more good then having a boyfriend.

Most teens feel like you do; alone and unvalidated and full of fear. It is a tough time.

You are never alone. know that there is someone out there that desires for you to be happy. Know that there are many who have overcome those years of such lonliness and now are happy and fulfilled.

Spend time with friends. Make some good memories. Remember all that you have. Surround yourself with love and laughter.

You are beautiful and valued.

I will keep a place in my heart for you and hold you in my prayers.
