I have to agree on the makeup thing. There's a girl at my school (go figure, we don't even know her personally) who walks around with a ton of makeup on her face, fake eyelashes, hair extensions, the whole deal. Guys make fun of her behind her back. She's like a clown to them, like Cerberus said.

If you use more than just the basics (foundation, neutral eyeshadow and mascara) there's a good chance you're overdoing it.

If you are not using a lot of makeup, then they might be testing you out, or maybe one of them fancies you. Guys are like girls in that when they notice a girl they like they talk about it with their friends and it's not always in the best mannered way.

chigirl agony auntIt's common knowledge that immature boys pick on the girls they like. It's their way of flirting, to get attention. Of course, the picking can be brutal. But it doesn't take away the fact. They do it because they like you, they just have a cruel way of going about it. They might not even realize it themselves.

Tell a teacher if it becomes worse, or if it becomes a real problem for you (not saying that it isn't already, but I don't know how disturbed you are by this).

Some people are just immature and get a kick out of attempting to make others feel paranoid.

I wouldn't worry about it, just laugh with them, that way it takes away the element of buzz about why they're sniggering at you to begin with - the fact they're trying to make you paranoid and its not working (or at least let them think that and they'll soon get bored)

chigirl agony auntYou're probably pretty. That's why they stare. But then they feel nervous around you, or maybe feel that because you look so good you are "better" than them. So they feel a need to make you less intimidating, by laughing away their nervousness.

If it is mostly guys that do this then I am betting they are using you as their fantasy for masturbation. Don't take offense, it actually is a compliment. But then naturally, when they see you, they feel so awkward that they need to make a joke about it. Again, to make you less scary.

If you want to test this then it is easy. Isolate one of the guys, or find one of them when he is alone. Then walk up to him and say hi, see how he reacts. If she doesn't meet your eye then my theory is probably right (he sees you as his superior in a manner). If he stares right into your eyes then I'm wrong (he sees you as his equal or as below him).

"is there anything funny in my face or something?"

I'll be blunt OP, there could be something funny on your face if you wear too much makeup. Seriously I have a tendency to laugh at girls with big orange faces and a line around their jaw line, or with so much eyeliner on they look like heroin addicts.

OP ask someone who will give you an honest answer and not just a platitude to make you feel good whether that's the case, girls with too much make up look like insecure clowns to us guys, harsh but it's the truth and it's funny to us.

If make up is not the issue then it's probably that one fancies you, or they know someone who likes you or they may have heard a rumour.

I agree with the other posters just ignore them, but seriously think about the make up thing id you wear a lot of it because if you do you're just going to have to get used to people laughing and staring because it does look funny.

I mean come on she looks like a clown, and she probably left the house thinking she looked great.

Honeypie agony auntIgnore it. He is doing it to get you to pay attention to him and to make you feel insecure.

If you ignore him he will find someone else to target.
