I wouldn't usually imagine some guys to say it, even some who are not necessarily tough, but would never say extremely sappy things (is sappy a word?) so yeah I was just wondering. thanks!

Well if it's when you say something sweet to them or are complaining about something then, its probably because he doesn't feel like saying too much back. Lol I'll tell my boyfriend he's amazing or something and I'll get an "Aww" and nothing else. So I don't know why guys do it but it does seem normal.
