writes:I live in Wales and I've noticed since I've moved there a lot of guys comment on my accent and the sound of my voice! I wanted to know why is it that they like it so much, some even tell me they could listen to me speak for ages and that and english accent is very sexy, but to me it sounds boring..I mean i've noticed the girls in wales do have a strong accent, some sound like Geordies/northerners and I honestly prefer their accent to mine! I just sound really british and have a really english speaking voice. I've been told many times I sound like emma watson and keria knightly, but when I hear them speak and me I think why do guys love my accent so much it's nothing special.Can someone please explain?!  By the way every woman I know of looove the Scottish accent. Don't ask why. I have no idea. It's like asking why we love men in uniform. It's just hot. Can't give you a good reason why, because logically there's no reason.

What's there to explain, they think it's sexy. Doesn't matter if YOU don't find it sexy. To you it's normal. But you're not the one to find other women sexy, doesn't mean other MEN wont find other women sexy just because you don't.
They have their own taste, and whether you understand it or not is irrelevant. It's just a personal taste. Most of the time, people in general like accents. They think it's exotic and interesting. It is something that distinguishes you from the rest.
My American ex thought my Norwegian accent was sexy. Whereas other Norwegians think of you as poor in English and not well educated if you have a strong accent... So one persons negative is another's idea of "sexy".

 People like various accents for various reasons. Usually people "adore" accents they don't hear every day. It makes them feel like they "get out" a little in the world so to speak.
Some like a Texan Twang, others a hint of French/Italian. It's different and thus "exotic" :)

reader, anonymous, writes (11 June 2013): Do you like Irish accents OP? I have a pretty moderate but very Irish accent. When I was living in England girls loved it because it was exotic etc. even if do you hear Irish accents all the time over there.
I love the English accent, especially Newcastle, Cockney London, think women with those accents are a little bit sexier. Can't stand the American accent at all. So loud, drawn out and over pronounced. You certainly find some accents really hot to hear right? Then how can you not see how others may view yours regardless of how you think you sound?
