I would just add that it should be of no concern to you, because, quite often, they may simply not be able later to match a face with a name and number. Therefore, they play it safe and don't call. I know bars and clubs are popular, but they are not usually the best places to meet potential serious friendships.

Sometimes guys are just trying to get over their fear of rejection or fear of women in general, and they go out to try to get numbers from women they consider attractive. They are probably too afraid to make the next move, but being able to ask for a telephone number starts to give them confidence. They never stop to consider the consequences to the person on the other end of the conversation.
Don't worry too much about it. Dating is always a numbers game. You can't get hung up over every guy who doesn't call, any more than a guy can get hung up over every woman (including you, sometimes, I'll bet) who declines to give him her number, Just move on to the next guy. That may seem somewhat callous and shallow, but if you expect to find true love every time you go to a bar you are going to spend a whole lot of your life being disappointed.
