So I like this guy and I asked him if he wanted to hang out and he said Sure! :)

And after I asked if he could pick me up he said no problem and asked what time?

He said

Then he said I don't know. I'll have to see.

BUT then he never texted back.

Did he change his mind?

A female reader, Dorothy Dix Australia +, writes (13 October 2012):

Hi there. Usually, guys like to do the asking out.

Even though it's modern times, and sometimes girls do actually ask a guy out, just the same, men are still basically old fashioned when it comes to dating usually.

Because he didn't text you back, it might be wise to give him some space and see if he gets back into contact with you to follow up on it.

Give him a couple of weeks to do so, and if at the end of that time you have heard nothing more from him, well then give it a miss.

It could be that you have more interest in him, than he does towards you.

However, only time will tell what is going to happen.

When you asked him to go out, he might have thought you were asking him out as a friend.

Although, you then asked him to pick you up, which dramatically changed the status, didn't it?

If you had've asked him to hang out with you, and then simply suggested you meet up somewhere, that would have taken the pressure off him to kind of be your date.

Do you see the difference there?

There is not a lot you can really do now, expect wait and hope that he will get in touch with you soon.

You can't force the issue though.

The ball is now in his court.

The other thing that may have happened, is that when he said - "I don't know. I'll have to see." - It's entirely possible that when he said that, he had an idea that he might have already organised something earlier, but at that moment, couldn't remember exactly what it was, because you may have taken him by surprise.

It's really hard to say.

As I was saying before, it's really now up to him.

Don't text him anymore to pressure him for an answer. Or to ask him why he didn't get back to you.

To do that, could push him away from you altogether.

And that is NOT what you want.

If this guy is someone you see on a regular basis, well then when you do see him next, just pretend you never texted him or asked him out, and just smile and say "Hi" as if nothing happened.

A reader, anonymous, writes (13 October 2012):

Darling I'm sorry to tell you this, he doesn't like you.

What on earth could be the possible reason why he never texted back?

If he have the hots for you he will never ever forget to text back and will be more than willing and excited to hang out with you, unless something really happened to him like his car crashed, or any major accident that made him unable to text back and inform you what really happen. It only takes a minute a two or two to text.

So, Don't sweat about it.. Just shrug it off, ignore him as if you forgot too that yu ask him.. He ain't worth it..

Good luck..
