Im also thinking that people shouldn't have sex unless they are ready to take care of a baby (not necessarily financially capable, just mentally capable). Babies are a consequence of sex and it's foolish not to conciser the consequences of your actions. Even if you plan on using protection, as we all know, things sometimes dont go as planned.
Now for your question, a lot of people aren't as smart as us. They have sex without thinking about consequences. And a lot of teenage boys only think about sex. Try not to judge them too hard, it's the hormones that run them. Girls start thinking about babies and getting mommy-hormones and guys start thinking with their penises. You will just have to look for that one guy who'd more mature, or wait with dating until you are older. Even at 18 though, as the girl in the post above yours complained about, guys aren't always mature. But when you are 18 there are a lot more mature guys to choose from than at 14.
Maturing is a process that needs life experience and a good head on their shoulders, so give them a few more years to really figure out what they want in life.
