Did you feel any pain? Could very well be he scratched you like natasia said. Or maybe he was a little rough and you were tight as it's been some time since you last had sex.
Was there a lot of blood? If there was only a little I would assume he scratched you accidentally, it happens. If it hurts when he fingers you again, or when he inserts his penis, then most likely he did scratch you and you should take a good week to let it heal.

Time for a check up, honey.
He could have nicked you with a nail, but to be on the safe side see a Gyno.

Are you on the pill? You could easily have an erosion on the cervix. If in doubt go to the doc's for a check-up though, no harm in making sure there's no problem.

It could be that you were scratched by one of his nails. It could be that you have a tender cervix and it was disturbed. It isn't uncommon for this to happen. If it happens again/a lot, you could go to the doctor to be checked out, but I don't think it will. It depends really I suppose how much blood. If from a scratch, it wouldn't be much - just a smidge. If a lot, then go to the doc straight away.
