 Don't give up on online dating just yet, there are some decent guys who use it like me lol, but yeah a lot of people who use online dating have issues, you just need to be patient.
I don't think its a waste of time, all it takes is to meet one special person out of thousands and your sorted for life.

 I could say the same thing except I'm an almost 18 year old male from The US.I'd date you but the ocean would cause some difficulties haha.
I'm sure you can find a man that will fall in love with you!Go out with friends and mingle and if you see someone you like you can introduce yourself and even ask for a date!
You just have to try,Don't try to find reasons why not to date someone.If it makes you feel better in 5 years if you need a husband find me!Haha.
