Being nervous will make the situation worse for him...it's arguably him being so attracted to you that he gets nervous because he can't believe he is about to penetrate someone so beautiful thus losing his erection -- and yes, that is a valid reason for erection loss.
You should make him feel relaxed. You should engage in large amounts of foreplay to warm him up; don't just jump straight into full on sex.
Failing that, a trip to the GP can often cure such problems.
