I absolutely enjoyed my trips to the USA and I respect its culture and its people no matter how different we are.Please don't tell me that TV/movies mislead teenagers. Our TV is WAY more junk than yours and more explicit, and I do see things are getting more sexual here too, just not as much as they are there, and in a different way.

I have had good education in Argentina, but the school that I visited in NC was pretty luxurious (with several modern computers, projectors in every classroom, and very successful sports teams and a very good deal of people good in all sorts of arts) and everyone had a very very nice large well furnished house. Of course, most students our age had a good car (some people even had huge 7-seat SUVs just for themselves to drive to school, Sarah had a modern Volvo). I am sure not all schools are like that, so we were definitely not around poor people.However, in Argentina those students from lower classes and poor education are more sexual of course. Recently, a few months ago, I read that some girls of lower and middle classes are starting to charge guys to perform oral sex in exchange of having their homework done, for money, or for guys to buy them expensive drinks at nightclubs (I am talking about 14-15 year old girls too). Yesterday, coincidentially, I saw an old answer on some question on this site that did talk about that fad going around North America for quite some time already and searching a little more on news sites I read some articles saying that the problem is growing alarmingly in the USA and that teenagers just don't see that oral sex is big deal.Same for sexting. I learned that term recently because it was mentioned in a national newspaper as becoming the new fad but a few days ago I found out that the term originated from North America as well.Some other things from Europe are getting down here as well, like some sort of color bracelets that based on its color supposedly tell the other sex what you want: Just a kiss, oral, feeling up, one night stand going all the way, a relationship, etc. (I also read about that on the newspaper). The problem is that some young girls have started to use them both with an intention but in most cases without knowing this meaning and some guys who do know about this fad are just encouraged to harm and sometimes rape these poor young girls.Maybe I read too much, but most of that I can tell it from personal experience. I go out quite often and see it with my own eyes.

 Hi, I don't know what the hell is wrong with Charlotte, NC. I grew up in upstate NY and I've never seen behavior like that (though I've heard of it), but then again it probably depends on what sort of people you hang out with and where you grow up. I know this over-sexualized underworld exists, I just haven't been party to it or had to deal with it. In college I was only friends with Europeans who were also appalled by America's overt sexuality, so I know what you're talking about. Not everyone here is like that, however; neither myself nor any of my American friends ever even had a first boyfriend or girlfriend, let alone sex, until we were in our twenties. I can't even begin to fathom why girls would offer blowjobs to guys they aren't in a longterm relationship with. Suffice to say, if a guy ever dared to look at me expecting a blowjob I would knock his teeth out, and if I had been there when that guy was trying to push your friend back into that bathroom I would have called the police, I don't care, I would have claimed he was attempting rape. If not rape, he was certainly trying to coerce sex. That is 100% UNACCEPTABLE behavior and I'm sorry your friend had to put up with that. I'm truly embarrassed knowing you witnessed these things, especially as just a high school student. I'll probably get some flack for this, but next time you come to the US try to stay out of the south; it's a very poor region (the northeast financially carries the rest of the country) and I understand their education system is way behind the rest of the country. I'm sorry to say, but these are the states where we are constantly hearing about stories like an 11 year old girl being gang-raped by 18 men; it doesn't necessarily reflect the rest of the country. That's not to say there aren't any bad seeds up north, but I've lived in plenty of states and I can say as the price of food and quality in public education go up, you'll generally see less of this disgusting behavior you're talking about.
