writes: dear cupidmy right side of my neck seems to have more muscles at the bottom nearing the shoulders then my left side one, i would like to know is this normal or is it rare, as i have been to the doctors and he said its just muscles and did not give a proper explaination. if its not normal does any-one have any suggestions on how to make them even ???any advice from males will be helpful, as i am stressing here and do not know what to do and parents are saying theres nothing there

I'm having the same problem..I noticed 1 day when I looked in the mirror tha one side of my neck was mucular than the other and it freaked me out..when I show people what I'm talking about they see it 2..so ya not going crazy..I'm lookn 4 answers 2..

Chances are you favour that side when you lift things, or use things like sports equipment.
if your GP and your parents both say there is nothing there you really do need to stop obsessing over it because the chances are there really is nothing there!!
Honey, when I was younger I used to obsess about the fact that one of my eyes was slightly smaller than the other....until i realise that NOBODY have the perfectly symmetrical body. They just don't exsist!!

I've certainly never heard of this before but I think you're more self conscious because you know it's there. Your parents obviously can't see it! Some people end up with one bicep bigger than the other depending on whether they're left or right handed. I know that I can carry more weight on my right arm than my left. I don't know how you would have developed bigger muscles on one side of your neck but a fitness instructor can probably give you some ideas for evening out the issue. Also keep half an eye on it to make sure it's not getting bigger or changing shape etc.
