Hey guys. Just wanting any advice really. I am on Microgynon pill and have been for about 4 years from the age of 17. My periods usually come like clockwork, usually quite heavy and suffer badly from period pains. My last two periods have been totally different though, lasting only a day and more of a brown discharge then blood really. I have also recently been bleeding a little after sex with my partner and wonder if this would be having an impact on my period? I have been tested for STI's so it cant be that. Have to go back to the doctor this evening and im a bit worried. Just wondering if anyone else has had this and what was the cause? Thank you guys :)

pebble agony auntBrown spotting is typical with pregnancy. You don't have to miss a pill to get pregnant because the pill is not 100% effective. That's what I would look into first and foremost. Hopefully, your doctor should do that, if he doesn't, you need to.

I am 14 weeks pregnant myself and for the last three months, around the times I would have normally had a period I have had brown discharge like the one you are describing.

Good look with your appointment.

bobbles32 agony auntIf you've missed a pill or didn't take one at the right time then you could be pregnant, it sounds typical of that.
