Hi. im only 17 so no i dont have a child with ADHD, although my younger brother (ages 9) does have, hes very bad, he sleeps for about 4 hours a night if were lucky, he bounces off the walls, theres hundreds of foods and drinks that he is not allowed, it sounds silly but those chocolate custard cream biscuit things sent him bonkers! he cant sit still or anything, and the doctor put him on ritilin but this caused him to put on 2 stone! so mum took him straight off again. he needs one to one communication at ALL times, hes such a handfull, luckily ive grown up with him and his ADHD so i have been able to see everything and sort of see how he works, he NEEDS to be in a set routine, he knows to go to bed once emerdale finishes, and although he doesnt sleep all night, he knows hes not allowed out of his bedroom untl its light. (which is terrible during summer! lol) he has to have his tea every night at the same time, set off for school at the same time every day, he has to be very organized, he gets treat once a week, goes bowling, for a pizza, etc.. but he only gets this is he gets 7 stickers on his behaviour chart (one for each day) well im draggin on a little now! but my mum says she understands what its like bringing up a handfull and she says if there is ANYTHING at all you would like to question me about, she will be more than happy to answer you :) x
