 It's because you like him. You're probably worried about making a fool of yourself in front of him, whether you realize it or not. A lot of people of all ages feel nervous around someone they like so it's totally normal. It'll probably wear off once you get to know him a little bit better and you'll start to feel more comfortable around him.
