It is normal to put on a few pounds before your period. You maybe retaining water too, as many women do in hot weather or before periods. Try not to worry about it as your weight is perfectly ok 9 stone or 8 and a half! Just relax and wait it out - if you continue to put on weight over the next few months then go and see your doctor who can run some blood tests (insulin resistance causes weight gain, as do thyroid disorders).

I'm sorry but there's not really enough information to give a proper answser. If I had to hazard guesses, I'd ask your eating patterns first, then age, then foods you're eating, at what times, whether partaking in any exercise or recently stopped, any possible allergies/intolerances, mood changes, recent depression/emotional upheaval/break-up, if you've recently started any medication, bowel movements.... If you think you may be pregnant, take a test but to be honest half a stone in a week or two wouldn't necessarily point to that in its early stages. If you've missed periods and have reason to think you're pregnant, I'd eliminate it as soon as possible and then work through the other possibilities.

dear reader. first of all don't panic i would like to ask how old you are?
if you are earliy to late teens then this is perfectly normal so don't worry
any change in diet could be a factor in this too.
but if you have any feeling in thinking you are pregnant then i think you need to get yourself a test kit or just go to your doctors if you are still worried.
but don't panic too much you know us women our weigh is like a yoyo most of our lives
keep me posted hun
good luck xxx
