HI. I used the contraceptive injectioon for 6 years. The solution is injected into your backside every 3 months. I had periods for the first couple of months and then my periods stopped. Personally I liked it.
I came of the injection over a year ago and it took around 6-7 months for my periods to start again. My periods are not heavier but I do get really sore breasts when i am due on.
In respect to your mum. Talk to her. I am a mum and I would much rather my child was being responsible than not. You never know, she may respect you for your honesty and realise that you are not a little girl but not quite a women either. She may relax knowing that you are protected. But remember you should still use condoms so that you do not contract any sexually tramsmitted infections.

hiya, well im on the injection but im 24 yr old. its no hassle as you only need to go for it every 3 month and in the meantime you can relax and dont need to think about remembering to take a pill every day. Most people i no along with myself dont have periods on it, and it can sometimes cause weight gain, but remember every1 is different so this might not happen to you. hope that helps

Hi
I had it years ago. My periods stopped completely. It was a joy! But the mood swings weren't :o(
But i might of just been unlucky, because the implant had the same affect on me, yet other women have had no problems. I just dont think i can use anything with hormones in. I was a monster to everyone within reach!
Its certainly a good idea though. One injection every 3 months, doesn't get much better than that ey!
Good luck.

Oh and i forgot to mention i retained excess weight when i had the injection, after having my daughter. I was on the injection for about 18 months and it wasn't til i stopped it and within a few months the weight fell off me without me dieting, that i realised the extra weight was probably down to the injection. But i wouldn't of worried about that if the mood swings hadn't been so bad.
