A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Well i like this boy, quite a bit and i have been told that he likes me back. he has even told me over the phone. But the thing is is that i had promises to this boy, who i have had alot of history with, and i was meant to get back with him, but i ended up developing feelings for this other boy.

I cut things off with the boy i had history with and i am waiting for this new boy, but he is making excuses to my friends, and he doesnt want me to move to him, but he likes me alot!

im confused, should i make the first move or should i wait for him to move first - which perhaps could be a while..?

This sounds a lot like situations I have been in. Firstly, I would think about what the other boy that you've had history with feels about you. How much would it bother him if you were to move on from him. When boys say they like you, it doesn't necessarily mean that he is ready to become involved with you. And really, I don't think that it is very fair that you have to wait around until he is ready for you.

On the other hand, if you really like this boy, maybe you should tell him that you're not going to wait for ever, as you have other people that like you besides him. Hopefully, this will give him a bit of a nudge, and if he really likes you than he will make a move. Honestly, I'm speaking from experience here, and in the long run it was me who ended up getting hurt. All I would say to you, is do whatever makes you happy.

I hope everything turns out alright :)
