They're very irregular, I can go for months without getting one and then I get a really heavy one unexpectantly. I've heard that the pill can regulate your period from some friends of mine that are on it. I was wondering if you get it over the counter at chemists or from your doctor/GP? If so, do you need your parents consent? I live with my dad and it's a bit embarrassing to ask him, he might think I'm sexually active and using it as protection too (I'm definately not by the way). Thanks in advance!

You can get on it through a doctor... or, when i was on it, i got it through planned parenthood for free (though i always made a donation)... i was on it for the same reason... i couldn't afford it through a doctor... so planned parenthood really helped me out on that.

He dose not have the right to tell anybody about what you say to him, or what treatment he gives. Give your doctor a call, give them your name and tell them you'd like to have a confidential appointment to see your doctor.
It's also best for you to tell your dad everything that concerns you. He has your best interests at heart and wants you to be happy. If he finds your tablets he will wonder why you couldn't talk to him, he will also think your sexually active and afraid. Tell your dad you have some women's problems and ask if he would like to come to your appointment with you. He'll probably be embarrased and say no, but when you come home you can show him what the doctor gave you and he will know your not having sex. Take care of you, I wish you good luck.

I didn't think the pill regulated it by the way, I thought it was the opposite as you switched it off completely. I don't know - I'm not a girl - check with your doctor.
