Hey there I was just wondering, where is the best place to go out, or just anywhere to have fun or learn something new.

Well the reason for this is that I just want to find some were new and different to go out with my boyfriend apart from watching movie s(which we both enjoy, and going to his house, which is not so bad as well)

If it helps we be going out now for the past 6 months his interest include sports mostly hockey, and golf and mine the arts from painting to plays... anything really.

Just looking for some new ideas, since we both have like week off, thanx once again :)

Hopeful agony aunt*Visit art galleries

*See a play

*Attend free local activities (fetes, festivals etc)

*Go for a walk

*Grab a ball and head down to your local park for a game of footy

*Have a bbq with friends

*Go to a local trivia comp (a lot of pubs and restuarants run them these days)

*Go to a charity ball or charity event

*Go down to the driving range and get your man to teach you how to play golf

*Go for a drive down to the coast (depending on where you live of course) and have fish and chips on the beach

*Visit a historic landmark

*Grab an atlas and talk about your dream vacations (you get to learn a lot about each other too in doing this)

*Teach each other how to cook your favourite dishes

*Grab a cook book, go to a random page and cook that dish

*Plan a social event with mates

*Go bowling

*Karoke (a lot of fun with some mates at a club or restaurant - check your local listings for info - a lot of places run them)

*Go camping/hiking

*Visit some touristy places in your home town - most people never actually see what there is in their home town!

*Grab a giant jigsaw puzzle and do it together

*Grab out those old board games - scrabble etc - make up your own rules, have some fun.

Hope this helps!

A female reader, Bev Conolly Australia +, writes (13 March 2006):

Bev Conolly agony auntWhy no go for some walks together? This is even better if one of you has a dog. Walk around your community, or somewhere scenic, like the beach or a lake, or through the bush.

Check out the "touristy" aspects of your own town. Look at local museums, watch visitors (or even join them) enjoying the amusement park, go to the zoo, go for a swim at the pool together. Maybe sit in a local cafe, have a coffee and people-watch. You might even go to the library and try to select books for each other, based on your own favourite authors.

OK, OK, I do recognise that I'm an irredeemable dag and my choice of entertainment shows it. (Thankfully, my husband is one too.) But my point is that most of my suggestions are inexpensive or free and will allow both of you to get to know each other's personalities more intimately, so you have topics to discuss and interests to share.

Try to make a similar list, based on where you live and what your own passions are, that will allow both you and your boyfriend is get to know each other more deeply, rather than passively being entertained by movies etc.

Hope that there's something in this you can use...
