My best friend and I are really feeling we need to get away from for a girly weekend away somewhere. But have no idea where might be good. Help! We want to go somewhere European, so not too far away - we both like history, trying new foods and a bit of shopping in local shops. Aiming to go last weekend in November. Any ideas?

A reader, anonymous, writes (16 October 2008):

You could go to prague, or paris, or berlin, or Barcelona, or Lisbon or Venice or rome or piza (more touristy but still noce, lots of history and other places close by to visit!)

There are some ideas! All of them are really nice and you should be able to get a cheap flight to them! Hope this helps!
