Hi everyone,

I don't know where or how to start here, I'm with my boyfriend just over a year and found out that my his son (who's 8) has got this muscle wasting disease that he got from his mother and her brother died from it when he was only 15! Its one that only boys/males get and I can't remember the name of it now!

I'm just wondering if any of you might know of a website that might have any info on it. No one in his family knows about his son, he wants him to have a normal life and not be treated any different because of it... He said if he told his mother that she would wrap him up in cotton wool and spoil him rotten!! He doesn't want that for him...

I would just like to know a bit more about it so I can understand a bit more... My boyf is heart broken about it totally! The tears were pouring down his face the other nite when he was telling me about him...

thanks everyone, I appreciate any help I can get on this.

.

This was the best possible site I could find for you on this sensitive issue. Good luck with the site! -Carrie

Ponungalungb agony auntLou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) normally effects people over 40. So I doubt that's what this child has. My father was diagnosed with it at age 67, which is fairly late in life.

Ponungalungb agony auntHi. I'm not sure which disorder you mean but I've included a link that lists several syndromes and diseases. I hope it helps. Once you have the name, google it and you should be able to find out all you need to know.
