A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Dear Cupid, ok so there is this guy, lets call him Mark. Well long story short he has a gf but we messed around during the summer because i was hoping that he would start developing feelings for me. Stupid idea i know and i do regret it. Anyways the point is, we used to hang out ALOT and ever since he rejected me(i told him i liked him) he still wants to hang out and i do too but not as much as we did. Anyways when he comes over to hang out, all he does is text text text and completely ignores me. What the hell is his problem? im just standing there like an idiot while he's quiet and in his own little world. What does this mean ? Thanks alot :)

He could be uncomfortable, and texts so as to avoid talking to you. Or he may simply not be that interested in spending time with you now. Either way, it is rather rude for him to do that while he is with you, and it can't be nice for you. Maybe you could try and tell him that you would rather he switched his phone off while he is with you, as you feel ignored when he just texts. He might not realise, so if you tell him how you feel he might make more of an effort. But if he doesn't, then I would say to stop hanging out with him, as he is just wasting your time. If he would rather be somewhere else, or talking to other people, then let him. And you go off and find something else much better to do than waste time on him.
