writes: hi, i know this isnt relationship based but i have a question and wonder if anyone can help?! i have decided to join a gym with a friend, we both want to loose weight and we have our induction tomorrow. but im really scared! i dont know what an induction is.. what exactly happens? do you have to get weighed? you see, im scared of getting weighed as im overweight, and i already know im fat. at 17 years old and just over 14 stone! which is why im off to the gym. but do you have to be weighed? thanks.!

It depends on the gym. If you have to be weighed then don't be worried, they would be very professional. X

reader, anonymous, writes (25 May 2009): Congradulations..you are taking the first step to a healthier you. Every gym is different generally and induction is just an intro to the gym and the machines. Unless you are working with a personal trainer most gyms do not weight you in.
If your gym has classes do not be afraid to walk thru that door. All those people you seen in there were first timers at one point. A class can be a bit less intimidating than just on the floor walking on the cadio machines and trying to do weights yourself. The class has a bit more support as you get to know people and they care when you are not there.
