Actually pregnancy occurs when the fertilized egg is implanted in the uterus. Sperm and egg meeting up is just fertilization of the egg. Once this complex of cells is implanted, that's when the hormones that can be detected by a pregnancy test start to be released. A fertilized egg just moving through the fallopian tubes or into the uterus will not emit those hormones.

You can read the instructions on the pregnancy test kit to determine when you should try the test. Or contact your GYN for further information.
Best wishes.

I then had unprotected sex a few days after. Since then, i've experienced MANY of the pregnancy symptoms including; light spotting, cramping, tiredness, headaches and dizzy spells.
So on Friday of last week i went to a clinic where they did a 'pregnancy strip' test. It came out negative, but was told to come back if my period doesn't start within a week.
I genuinely think there is still a chance i could be pregnant, despite the test result. Therefore my advice to you would be to wait until your period is about a week late. My consultant stated before taking my test that it was a bit early therefore, the result would not be 100% reliable (and this was 2 days before i was due a period)
As for when you conceived, well... not many women know the actual date unless they've only had sex once since their last period. So if you've had it 3 times, then it could have been on any of these occasions.

Women usually ovulated on day 14 of their 28 day cycle but many factors can change that time frame. Also sperm can live several days in the bodies of women. Read the instructions on the at home pregnancy test, don't drink or smoke or do drugs. If you do not want this pregnancy ( if you are). Then contact Planned Parenthood and see your doctor. Right away.
