A female United States age 36-40, *ickichici writes:

My ex and I broke up a little over a month ago. We were together for 4 years and lived together for almost 2. We have been talking every day now for a couple weeks and he tells me everything. I am the only one he tells everything to. None of his family or friends know it all. Sunday we slept together, Friday he took me to a movie. Things are good when it's just us or when our old friends are around, but as soon as his new friends are there he acts weird. They are all older and it's like he's trying to impress them. He's gotten into a bunch of trouble since the break up. Drinking and drugs are a factor and he's been arrested 4 times. He's also sleeping around with a couple other girls. Our friends and his family say we should be together. He says he still loves me and wants to have kids someday. He's even admitted to wanting to get back together in the future. I love him and I want to be there for him until we get back together but I don't know how long I can do this. Please help me. I don't know what to do.
