If he's told them he has a girlfriend, why do they keep ringing? if he wasnt encouraging them they wouldnt ring! thats taking the mick and i'd tell him that you want a word with these girls because they're clearly being cheeky!

reader, anonymous, writes (4 May 2005): Firstly, I assume you have not been together very long?Usually, you can tell, if you know somebody reasonably well, if they are up to no good. How does he behave in other areas? If all is well, then give him the benefit of the doubt, for now, but you should be asking him directly what exactly these telephone calls are about, though try not to sound accusing, at this stage.Be firm, though, and if the calls continue then you do have a right to know what is going on. Sometimes an ex won't let go and if your relationship is not yet very established ie: less than 6 months, then it may take time for the message to get through to an ex that your man has moved on and is with you now.The main thing is to play it by your instincts. Trust yourself. If you get the feeling all is not as he says it is, then it's time to ask serious questions and probably time to give this relationship another think.
