writes: I am the mother of a 5 year old girl. Anatomists or doctors please clarify my following doubt. Do vigial opening exist in girls at the time of their birth or it opens/appears only at the time of first menstration. If such an opening is not there, should they undergo operation to fix it.

However, the vagina can close up in babies. You have to clean baby girls in a certain way. Take her to a doctor and have things checked out.

If it appears she does not have a vaginal opening I would take her to a pediatrician. It could be possible that due to improper hygeine practices ata young age, her inner labia grew together to give the appearance that she is without a vaginal opening. If this is the case, a surgeon can separate them with a small procedure.

Vaginal openings should be there from birth.
If your little girl doesn't have one then get her to a doctor ASAP.
