Even said he was 'hook, line and sinker' for me. He then went away on business but called and texted me constantly. I was overwhelmed with all the attention. When he came back we met up again but he was a bit different. The next day he dumped me saying he wasn't ready for a relationship. He's now back online.Any explanations from guys out there?? Girls, have you experienced this? And as a side note, I didn't sleep with him.

Oh yes. There are two explanations.
1) - He has another woman on the side and was lying through his teeth. He may have been wanting to get into your pants, and since you didn't, he decided he wanted a woman who would fall for it so he went for someone else. If that's the case, thank God you didn't sleep with him.
2) - Some men fall for women very quickly, too quickly in fact. Then, they realize it was lust and nothing else so back away.
Given the fact that this guy was online and gave you all that "I've fallen for you hook, line and sinker" crap before dumping you the day after a 'business trip'. I think you'll find it was explanation 1.

He surely met or had someone else on the side, maybe a complicated relation or something like that. extra premature care and attention is red flag in my opinion. better now than later . xx
