What was the meaning behind the message my ex gave me?

Tagged as: Breaking up<< Previous question   Next question >>
Question - (30 July 2013) 2 Answers - (Newest, 30 July 2013)
A female South Africa age 51-59, anonymous writes:

I was inlove with him but had to end the relationship as I was not happy for a number of reasons. Lack of transparency being one of them. We discussed this and he apologised but I was no longer comfortable and became quite despondent. He's last text message to me was: "you have a beautiful soul, full of love and kindness, thank you for all the love you gave to me"

Was he looking out for some sort of reaction from me, is he playing mind games and wanting me to feel sorry for him after he hurt me?

My response was quite simple: I wished him well and thanked him for our time together. No bitterness at all.

Is there more to his parting words - playing the fool perhaps, mind games or was he being sincere...

Can anyone figure this one out?

Thanks

Sounds like a thoughtful gesture from someone who cares about you. I'm certain if you still wanted to give him a chance he would be there. If your mind is made up then why are you questioning this?
