reader, anonymous, writes (25 August 2010): Nice shaped jeans, and a nice top. A t-shirt is a bit to relaxed for a first date, even if it is in a cafe. The guy will want to see that you've made some sort of effort for him. If you turn up in just tshirt and jeans, he'll think that you're taking it just as friends from step one.
when you've got to the point that you're hanging out all the time, then yeah, bring out the comfy tshirt and jeans.

My advice would be to wear something which makes you feel confident about yourself. Alot of people tend to go OTT when it comes to dates, such as wearing short mini skirts, high heels and tons of make-up... personally I think those people are trying too hard to impress! Go for a casual/smart look such as skinny jeans and a flattering top, or leggings with a long top/dress.
