Quite simply, try and be natural. Dont wear your hair too different to how you normally have it, and dont wear loads more make-up than you normally would otherwise you will feel like a different person, and thats not good! The guy will want to get to know YOU, not some heavily made up version of yourself.
Clothes all depend on what you are doing on your date. If you are going for dinner then you can get a bit more dressed up, a skirt or dress would be nice. If you are just going to the cinema, then jeans and a nice top or a more casual dress would work well. If it is anything outdoors - then make sure you are wearing suitable clothes for the weather otherwise you will look very silly! Just pick out an outfit that you like wearing and you feel good in, if you feel happy and confident in an outfit then that will shine through.
As for make-up, this all depends on how much you normally wear and where you are going. If it is a party or night out then you can wear a bit more, but if it is a casual date during the day then keep it natural. My usual routine is to wear foundation in the evening, and a tinted moisturiser in the day. Then a bit of bronzer & blusher for a healthy glow, concealer around the eyes and on any blemishes, a natural lip balm or gloss, and mascara (always black). If it is a party then I will step it up with some highlighter on my cheekbones and brow bones for an added glow, and maybe a smoky eye if I have time. It is all up to you though - if you have great skin then a bit of blusher, lip gloss and mascara would be perfect.
Hair - again, how do you normally have it? Wearing it down is usually the best option, men like a girl with long flowing hair so if you have long-ish hair then simply wear it down and loose. If you enjoy curling it or straightening it then have a go at that - it is the same principle with the clothes, if you have a certain hair style that you think makes you look really good then go with that because it will add to your confidence on the date.
I hope this helps and good luck!

Something like a nice casual dress with ballet flats, or jeans and a dressy top would be fine. Ask your friends or family for advice on the clothes that you look the nicest in!

Wear something you feel comfy and confident it. Best bet is the "I've put no effort in but happen to look my best." It also depends on where you're going-heels for a long walk-not a good idea.
Hope that helps!
