What should I think about these drunken incidents and the hickies?

my boyfriend called me last night,said he was going to come pick me up, after 3 when he called i didnt hear from him all night,i got dressed and waited..after about 9 hours of waiting i went to sleep,i got a phone call at 10 this morning, it was him telling me that he got someliquor and his guy friend and him got a hotel and got drunk, he said "i was gonna call you but i passed out" i dont know what to think?? this has happend before, he dropped me off at school one time,after school i went to his house,waited he wasnt anywhere to be found so i went home,at about 11pm i heard a knock on the door, it was him DRUNK outta his mind and hickies on his neck, i confronted him he said his ex opened his car door hopped in and started attacking him"like sucking on his neck" he said he was pushing her off but i dont believe him, and again it was him and one of his GUY friends he was getting drunk with.....
